But before we set up google analytics on our WordPress blog, first of all, we need to signup for analytics account and create our tracking code. you can use your existing google account or you can create a new google account if you don’t have one, it only takes some few minutes to complete. after that go to https://analytics.google.com/ and click on the sign in on the top right and sign in using your google account.
Once you log into your google analytics account you will find some option, on the top navigation just click on the admin link and go to the admin page then in the admin page under the account tab click on the dropdown and click on the create a new account.
Now in this page you have to create your website account, this is an easy process just fill up the form with some more details like your account name, your website name, website URL, category etc.
And when you done that just click on the Get Tracking ID. once you did that on the next page google analytics will generate you a tracking id that we need to insert into our website to get analytic data.
As I mention before there is two way to add analytics code to our WordPress blog, 1st one is using a WordPress plugin and the 2nd one is manually edit template files.
So let’s start with the easy one insert google analytics using a WordPress plugin.

First of all login to your WordPress dashboard and then go to plugins -> add new on the left-hand side. Now into this page just search for google analytics and hit enter, you will find lots of plugins related to google analytics, you are free to choose any of them but in here I choose the first one Google Analytics by Kevin Sylvestre. Just search for the highlighted words in google and you will find that.
Now click on the install now button on the right. It will take some couple of seconds to install the plugins. once it’s install just click on the Activate the plugin link and plugin will activate into your WordPress website.
Now go to setting -> google analytics, In this page, you will see an option where you have to insert you web property ID.
Go back to your google analytics account and copy the tracking id from there and paste it into the web property ID tab and click on the save changes.
That’s it, you successfully insert google analytics into your WordPress blog, and after some couple of hours, you are start receiving analytics data into your google analytics account.
